Research & Methodological Center on Soil Science, Agrochemistry, Soil Protection - advisory body to the Department of Agriculture, Amelioration and Mechanization of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine on coordination and methods of research and development on the problems of soil science, agrochemistry, soil protection.

The purpose and objectives of the Centre - improving scientific support of scientific progress towards sustainable use of soil, to protect and improve soil fertility through the coordination of research institutions and management of the state budget for this purpose.

The main directions of scientific and technical activity of the Center:

  • Coordination of basic and target research on soil science, agrochemistry and soil protection;
  • Scientific support of rational use of land resources, conservation and improvement of soil fertility;
  • Scientific justification of national and state programs, concepts, predictions, suggestions and regulations of the main areas of soil science, agrochemistry and soil protection;
  • Methodological, scientific-methodology, standardization and metrological support of scientific research in soil science, agrochemistry and soil monitoring;
  • Development of modern agricultural technologies, types of fertilizers and ameliorants to reproduct and improve soil fertility;
  • Making proposals for financing priority scientific and technological developments at the expense of budget funds.

The Center includes:

  1. NSC "Institute for Soil Science and Agrochemistry Research named after O.N. Sokolovsky "- the main institution;
  2. Scientific units of NAAS institutions;
  3. Scientific and pedagogical colleges of agronomy and environmental profile.
